Capital Good Fund is a non-profit CDFI founded in 2009 that has been working to erase the racial wealth gap. “To truly and honestly address racism in America, we need to ensure that the financial system ceases to shackle communities of color with predatory loans and to exclude them from access to affordable mortgages, business and auto loans, and other products,” says Andy Posner, who founded Capital Good Fund when he was 24 years old. Over the past 11 years, they have helped more than 5,000 low-income families save roughly $4 million in interest and fees compared to predatory products, while increasing their FICO scores (credit scores) an average of 90 points.
