Communicating during a crisis is tricky and it’s important to get it right

When organizations face operational challenges, it’s difficult and yet critical to communicate with stakeholders in a timely way and with the right tone. The heat of crisis is not the time to start creating a communications plan. In order to be prepared for darker days, it’s best to have a crisis communication structure in place in advance, which includes having a hierarchy, assigning tasks in advance and having examples of pre-written statements.

Teak works with clients to help them imagine the worst situations in which they might find themselves and then use communications as a way to inform and create trust among different constituents.

Teak’s Top Ten Tips for Crisis Communications is a place to start. Use these tips to get you thinking ahead and call on us to help you develop a solid crisis communications plan before you need it.
