The environment will be one of the most controversial subjects President-elect Donald Trump will face after he takes the oath of office later this week. Teak Media + Communication and hundreds of other businesses are urging him to consider the social, environmental, and economic value in prioritizing sustainability.

There are nearly 30 million companies in the United States, representing the incredible power that business has in tackling the issues our country is facing. In the past, businesses have been a large driver of our reliance on fossil fuels and subsequent carbon emissions. Knowing what is at stake, it is imperative that businesses become part of the solution.
Teak Media + Communication has prioritized sustainability at the core of its business strategy since its founding nearly twenty years ago. Because of this, Teak has joined more than 630 other companies and investors across the United States and signed on to a pledge for a low-carbon USA. The letter, addressed to President-elect Donald Trump, President Obama, U.S. Congress, and other global leaders, calls for a continued effort to put the United States on the path toward sustainability, creating jobs and positioning the country as a competitor in the global economy. By implementing the Paris Agreement, which was adopted in December 2015 and went into effect in October, the country can collaborate with nations across the world to ensure a low-carbon future for all.
Teak joined companies like Patagonia, New Belgium Brewing, Burton Snowboards, and Virgin, highlighting a vast portfolio of industries. The pledge represents a growing (and positive) trend for businesses reducing their environmental impact.
The science doesn’t lie: climate change is real, and it’s happening now. We’re hopeful that by bringing together businesses, the government, and individuals, we can work toward a low-carbon future, protecting and preserving our planet for generations to come.
