Over the past several months Big Brothers Big Sisters has had to adapt to remote mentoring because of the COVID-19 pandemic said President and CEO, Mark O’Donnell.

“At the core of what we do, it’s a caring adult showing that child that, ‘I’m here for you and you can count on me,’” O’Donnell said. “There’s no better time than a time like this for that child to understand that that person is there for them. If that breaks down the whole thing breaks down.”

O’Donnell said through the pandemic more than 85% of bigs and littles have kept up with each other through meetups on Zoom or FaceTime. Now, the organization is helping pairs reunite in person.
